Classical Music
The timeless influence of classically composed music thrives in Milwaukee today. The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1959, remains the region's premiere symphonic organization, performing works encompassing both traditional and modern influences. The Florentine Opera became the sixth opera company in the United States in 1933. It continues to flourish today with the music being provided by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
